HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND 400 from WALTER is a powerful tool eroding machine with C.O.R.E. technology, developed for both eroding tools in PCD/CBN and grinding of tools in HSS and cemented carbide.
The machine is particularly suitable for larger tools and demanding machining. It can produce tools with diameters from 3 to 380 mm, processing length up to 520 mm and workpiece weight up to 50 kg.
Eroding and grinding for large tools
The HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND 400 combines EDM and grinding in one machine. This makes it a flexible solution for toolmakers machining both superhard materials such as PCD and CBN as well as traditional tool materials such as high-speed steel and carbide.
Stable cast iron gantry construction
The machine is built according to WALTER's well-known cast iron gantry design. The design has good damping properties, which contribute to high stability, smooth machining and very fine tool surfaces even in demanding applications.
Powerful belt-driven spindle with two spindle ends
HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND 400 is equipped with a powerful belt-driven spindle with two spindle ends. The spindle can handle up to 3 electrodes or 6 grinding wheels with a maximum diameter of 254 mm. With a maximum peak power of 24 kW gives the machine high capacity for efficient processing.
Fast linear shafts with ball screw
The machine has three linear axes, X, Y and Z, with ball screws. The maximum speed of movement is 15 m/min, resulting in good productivity and efficient processing cycles.
Grinding wheel changer with capacity for 4 to 8 adapters
As an option, there is a grinding wheel changer 4/8, which extends the grinding wheel capacity of the machine. With space for 4 to 8 grinding wheel adapters HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND 400 can be customized for more flexible and automated production.
Fine Pulse Technology for high surface finish
The machine is equipped with the latest erosion technology by Fine Pulse Technology. The technology provides a stable and efficient erosion process, very fine surface finish and minimal chipping, which is important when machining PCD and CBN tools.
Laser Contour Check for non-contact measurement
HELITRONIC POWER DIAMOND 400 is available with the option Laser Contour Check. It is an intelligent measuring system integrated directly into the tool grinding and eroding machine. The system enables highly accurate, non-contact measurement of various tool parameters on cylindrical tools.
