HELITRONIC VISION DIAMOND 400 L from WALTER is an advanced high-end tool eroding machine with C.O.R.E. technology, developed for both eroding tools in PCD/CBN and grinding of tools in HSS and cemented carbide.
The machine is designed for very high precision, stability and productivity when machining demanding tools. It handles tools with diameters from 3 to 315 mm, tool length up to 420 mm and workpiece weight up to 50 kg.
High-end solution for eroding and grinding
The HELITRONIC VISION DIAMOND 400 L combines EDM and grinding in one machine. This makes it particularly suitable for the manufacture and machining of high-performance tools in super-hard materials such as PCD and CBN, while also being able to grind tools in high-speed steel and carbide.
Gantry construction in mineral castings
The machine is built according to WALTER's gantry design in mineral castings, which provides very good vibration damping, high thermal stability and excellent dynamic properties. The design contributes to high grinding precision and optimal tool surfaces even in advanced machining operations.
Linear drives on all five CNC axes
All five CNC axes are equipped with linear drives and are controlled by integrated high-resolution measuring systems. This provides precise movements, high dynamics and very good repeatability, which is important in the production of complex tool geometries.
Torque drive for high accuracy
HELITRONIC VISION DIAMOND 400 L has a rotating C-axle with torque drive, which provides very high accuracy and long service life. The direct drive reduces mechanical play and contributes to stable, precise positioning.
Torque motor on the A axis
The rotating A-axes is equipped with torque motor and has a maximum speed of 750 min-¹. This provides extended functionality for, for example, precise profile grinding and advanced back-grinding lines.
Fine Pulse Technology for fine surface finish
The machine is equipped with the latest erosion technology by Fine Pulse Technology. The technology provides a stable and fast erosion process with very fine surface finish and minimal chipping, especially when machining PCD and CBN tools.
Laser Contour Check for non-contact measurement
HELITRONIC VISION DIAMOND 400 L is available with the option Laser Contour Check. It is an intelligent measuring system integrated directly into the tool grinding and eroding machine for highly accurate, non-contact measurement of various tool parameters on cylindrical tools.
