Our Grob Machines
The G-Series from Grob is available in three sizes, each offered as a dedicated milling center (G model) or as a combined milling and turning center with TRAORI turning (T model):
- Grob G350 — Compact 5-axis universal machining center for small and medium-sized parts. 5-axis simultaneous machining in virtually any material.
- Grob G350T — Compact milling-turning center capable of performing complete machining of small parts in a single setup. Horizontal spindle and tunnel design for maximum working area.
- Grob G550 — 5-axis universal machining center for medium- to large-sized components. Designed for high-volume production with maximum chip removal and process reliability.
- Grob G550T — Milling-turning center with 5-axis simultaneous machining and TRAORI turning. Capable of machining complex parts that require both milling and turning in a single setup.
- Grob G750 — Large 5-axis machining center for large and heavy workpieces. Tunnel design that allows for the machining of the largest components without collision.
- Grob G750T — Large milling-turning center for complete machining of large workpieces. Combines a horizontal spindle, tunnel design, and TRAORI turning with high stability.
About Grob
Grob-Werke was founded in 1926 in Munich and is headquartered in Mindelheim in southern Germany. The company is family-owned in its third generation and employs over 9,000 people at six production facilities in Germany, Brazil, the United States, China, Italy, and India. Its revenue exceeds 2 billion euros.
Grob is primarily known as one of the world’s leading suppliers of production lines to the automotive industry—particularly in the field of engine and transmission machining. In the 2000s, the company expanded its product offering with the modular G Series: 5-axis machining centers featuring a horizontal spindle position and a tunnel design. This concept offers three key advantages:
- Horizontal spindle — The chips fall freely downward from the work area, which improves process reliability and allows for longer unmanned runs.
- Tunnel design — Provides the longest Z-axis travel in its class and allows for the machining of large workpieces—even with long tools—without collision.
- Minimum distance to TCP — The positioning of the three linear axes minimizes the distance between the guide rails and the tool's contact point, resulting in high rigidity and stability.
The T models (G350T, G550T, G750T) include TRAORI turning, so that multi-operation machining — milling, drilling, threading, and turning — can be performed in a single setup.
